My tank is in the living room of my house. I've noticed that when I'm at the computer desk in the other room (which I can still see the tank my fish do the strangest things. When I'm in the living room they act just like normal fish swiming around or laying at the bottom. But when no one is in the room they are like kids who's parents left them home alone. They move driftwood, stir up the sand or just chase each other around. My red O will actually look at his reflextion and flare his gills and charge the tank. Does anyone else notice strange behavior when their not in plain sight of their tanks?

my plec just sits on top of the water. not eating. not dead. just sitting.........

i have never noticed my fish acting differently when i leave the room.

My fish act as if their parents left and are having a party. If I stay very very still for a while and the fish dont notice me, they will start to swim quickly around, bite each other, move rocks here and there, and yawn :)

I often wonder this about the food in my fridge when the door is shut....

Alot of fish will display more of their natural habits when nobody is around. When someone is near the tank fish think it's feeding time

I had a full grown turquoise severum for many years who liked to swim as fast as he could, then spin around upside down (belly up), then spin right side up again and continue swimming. Only fish I owned who could swim upside down. It was pretty funny. That fish recently died of unknown causes. He was a clown. I miss him.

sajica swim up down left right then back to pot and again up down left right back to pot for about 10minues then u watch them n they go normal ??lol the goby actually moves when u dont look while when u look he is like a log

my pbass looks like its staring at me all the time, when im sittin on the pc, on the couch watching tv... when i stand up he wiggles himself in front of the tank begging for food. funny fish he always do that.

i had my tank set up next to my computer desk. and my archer used to spit at me to get me to feed the tank. sitting here minding my own business then. Wham< just like someone shot me with a squirt gun.
