Was at LFS I was sold a quetzal cichlid juvie months ago that turned out to be a black belt cichlid. I was looking in the assorted American cichlid tank and spotted this little gal ....think I scored a quetzal for $6.

Very hard to identify juvenile fish. They all look alike. Hopefully your fish turns out to be a quetzal.
That's a quetzal cichlid! A few weeks ago my vieja syn. looked identical to yours.
