:nilly:I think i have a case of marine ich:eek:. I have a small dogface and a domino damsel that i discovered white spots on. I noticed them last night. Tonight i ran to the LFS and purchased Paraguard by Seachem. Has anyone used this stuff. It says its filter and invert safe. I dont have any inverts in the tank but whats "filter safe" mean?:WHOA:

yes...

filter safe may also mean you can use it as a filter material, like soime nitrate and phosphate spnges cone in floss sheeets fo they can be inserted into filters...
but that stuff may just be a powder or liquid...

Its a liquid and it seems to be working. i have lowerd my salinity to 1.019 down from 1.023 and the spots have semed to start going away. should I keep going lower with the salinity or keep it there for a while?

so just keep it at 1.019 for a while? No lower? how long should i keep it there? Ihavent had marine ich before but have dealt with freshwater. seems maring ich is a little more involved.

it can take up to 3 weeks to kill off all stages of it... keep it monitored if it's completely gone for a week i think you'll be in the clear

So no more lowering the salinity? Just a few weeks of the 1.019? Tank looks like crap, very cloudy. But i guess its worth it for the ich to be gone.

well usually if you're treating fish, even in a FO or FOWLR, you move the fish...

the LR may be reacting adversely to the hyposalinity
