3 of my 4 cats died (dont know how) and im going to get a new fish to add to my tank should i do eels (fire, tire, etc) are they worth it how big do they get are they consider monsters are they pretty hardy.

Tire tracks and fire eels both get very large, around 3 feet.

they do get large, but they are very interesting fish and relatively hardy. If the tank is covered so they have no escape, they don't usually present too many difficulties

how big is your tank?.. fires and TTs are awesome fish to keep, but they need a large enough tank and plenty of hiding places.. i would recommend at least a 48in tank.

I have 2 eels in my 5 foot 130 gallon tank - a 2.5' Mexican dragon eel and a 2' yellow head eel. They share the tank with a Volitan lion fish and everything seems fine so far. Eels are really interesting fish, I highly recommend them.

Personally i think they are well worth it ,pretty easy to get them to hand feed all except peacock's i found to be really picky eater's.IMO fire's are the best.

Both are monsters, here are some old pics to inspire...
