think im going to have problems

time has gone sooooo fast my P14 are near 9 months old

one min the male never had hardy any claspers then within 1 week they were their and big

the problem i have or im going to have is the male is trying to breed with the female already

im not talking just forplay he is grabbing hold of her disk and trying to flip her over

the strange thing is he is only trying it on with the smaller female

no real damage yet as they are only 8inch disk

he starts making his move the same time as my breeding pair before as soon as the new water is going into the tank during a water change

lets hope he doesnt beat crap out of her

lets just hope the hormones carm down now hes mature and theirs not a mature female in the tank

your old pair bred at 1 year old didnt they???? im trying to get my self to one tank and one pond but all on a central system... would make my life easier if everything was linked and on drip system...

can you not split the tank in 2 .. then you can ues one side for the little male and big female ? maybe he going to try mating with the larger female ? and if that's not possible.. maybe you can add a small motoro they are ready to mate sooner then p14's

1 year old is impossible for P14 to breed they need to be 2-3 years old. I think T1 bred at 2 years am I correct? and i am pretty sure that is amazing for a P14 shows he's doing something right.

I have lost one breeding female henlei from aggression caused by the male. Out of 30 females.

yep your right it was 2.5yrs last time

this is the reason i think i may have problems if the male is trying to jump the female so young

im hoping he gets bored and leaves her alone

it only seams to be a water changes right now

i think i was lucky last time as my male wasnt that aggressive even when they were breeding and they were in the love hold it was the female who used to bite the male

if it gets to bad i can shify this female for sometime as he is showing no intrest in the larger female who i wanted him to breed with

i will video it next time i do a water change
