My mom has this old newspaper from LA times and its dated 1974 and the front story is of Nixon resigning. Its in decent shape too. Heres some pics:

it's not in good shape. it's yellowed, curled up and tattered on the edges and decomposing. newsprint is one of the cheapest forms of paper. it's breaks down quickly, when compared to other types of paper. plus, that particular issue is not very significant. even newspapers, nowadays, keep their latest issues in a digital form after a while. hardcopies of a newspaper are not of any value.

I'd pay 25 bucks for it, but not a penny more.

if you paid $25 for that, you would be paying $24.75 too much.

It might be worth something to someone. Its got historical value. I mean its easy to say its not worth anything if it is not interesting to you. Same could be said about some of your fish. You mgiht think a fish is worth $100, but I might think its worth a penny.

No it's not worth anything. You can get older, more historically influential, better conditioned papers for under $20

stick it on ebay some crackhead will buy it for $100 dollars plus..
especially some history nut..try it out

:iagree: and/or put it on Craigs List or see if the Nixon Library/Museum in Yorba Linda, CA wants to buy it.

let me give you an example: the pages of a book are made of a higher quality paper that will not breakdown and yellow as quickly as newsprint. newsprint is a tradeable commodity. it's pricing fluctuates daily. it's value is minimal. newspaper companies intentionally purchase newsprint because a daily newspaper's life expectancy is one day. within 24 hours, today's newspaper is yesterday's news. in order for a newspaper to be of some value, it would have to be something from a very long time ago. and i'm talking about the 1800's and back. find something from the civil war. and in order to really impress a collector, find something from an ancient civilization. find something written in egyptian heiroglyphics. an old 1970's newspaper about the watergate fiasco is not of any value.
