Just baught a 90gal acrylic and notice crazing when i got home. It makes it look really ugly and its not that deep. Would it be okay to use a electric sander to get the crazing out? let me know what you guys think

You're better off using a buffer and rubbing compound, Even with 800 grit sandpaper a sander would just make the scratches worse.

Sounds like a bad plan to me.

I got moving to fast with the Acrylic Mag float and have scratches. I think a electric car buffer with the proper grit paper might be better. I think is like 3000 grit or something like that.

Crazing isnt scratches but actually cracks in the glass. This would be a terrible idea to try to sand.
In my opinion a sanding mark would look worst than a scratch on a acrylic tank. There are products that takes scratches out of glass, whether these are ok for aquariums and fish im not sure of.

A buffer with a soft pad and automotive rubbing compound. There are 3 or 4 threads on here where people buffed scratches out of their acrylic tanks. You can buy the paste at auto-zone, most people use it to remove the haze from headlight covers.

Its a long process, with lots of work and sore arms, even with a high speed buffer, but you can make it look almost new. Search the forums here, there are several with before/after pictures.

NO, do not use electric sander. Novus has a very good acrylic polish, It will remove most scratches and with a power buffer used for automotive you should be good. I used Novus 1,2 and 3 on my 240 acrylic tank, worked great. It is alot of work though.....good luck

I know how to get rid of scratches but not crazing witch are small cracks underneath the surface of the acrylic

impossible to just sand out crazing..once it's started..there's no stopping..you can reinforce..but that would probably be ugly too..
