ok i am thinking about getting a 125 for my Oscars to go in, but i wont some thing else in there with them, they have a catfish that i will probably get rid of, Silver-tip shark is going to friend who has a brackish water aquarium, and a sailfin pleco. I was thinking arowanna or jardini but are they to big for a 125g? If they are what is a good-sized schooling fish i could put in with th O's, Except tinfoil barbs i have ahd them before and although they are pretty i would like something different. and what type of catfish, should i go Pictus, Eclipse or Sunset, i am open for suggestions? Also would parrots or severum be okay. Just let me know i guys i had an idea about if but first i want to see what you guys have to say about it. Thanks all and pics will be coming soon, hopefully

jardinis and arowanas may have trouble turning around in a 125.

Eclipse Catfish get about the same size as Oscars, I believe, so I think ya. Severums are also good with Oscars. Maybe get another Oscar? I'd probably go with 2 Severums, 2-3 Eclipse catfish, maybe a school of clown loaches as well? Aros get to big for a 125g I believe.

yea aro would def get to big for a 125. some of those cats previously mentioned would be nice....maybe a bunch of large silver dollars too?

what about parrots? would they work? I am open to all suggestions? and is $475 a good price for a 125 with lights, filters, and stand? i havent seen it yet but will sometime this weekend, so i couldnt tell you what filter(s) it is.

How about a school of pinktailed chalceus those are pretty cool. Here take a look.

Yeah, it's a pretty good deal. I was shopping around for a 125 for a couple of months and they were all between $600-$630. Then Big Al's had an end of the year sale and sold me the tank, stand, lid, lights, gravel, and background for $449.99 (came to $476.99 with tax).

What kind of filters did you get with it?

I would have to agree that is a good price. I got a 125gal for $450 something like that its acrylic though. Came with stand and everything else! awesome tank! =) Id say its a good deal!

I would invest in at least a 180gal for oscars and an arowana.
You would need at least a 2 feet width for a few years.

:)
