Hi guys,
Been around monsterfishkeepers just reading threads for about two years now.

Recently I've been able to get my hand on a very nice FH (which was labeled a Red Monkey Dragon FH) & a Midas offspring from AnubisScott. Currently they're housed in a separated 55 Gallon aquarium and are both about 2.5" from head to tip of the tail. I've tried putting those two together but of course from the start they've both tried to punk each other for territory.

I also have a 150 gallon aquarium that houses an 8" female FH (or at least I think) a 7" male blood parrot a 2" Female Flowerhorn & 6 other Midas cichlid from the same batch as the one in the 55 gallon. (Of course the one in the 55 gallon was hand chosen because of its size and dominance over its siblings)

Recently I went to my LFS and saw a Red Texas Flowerhorn. Most dominant of the rest in its aquarium & the same size as both my fish in the 55 gallon (2.5"). My question is, would it be smart to remove my divider and add the Red Texas to the 55 gallon?

A part of me is saying no because I might end up with two dead fish &/or hold back the growth of the other two. Especially my FH which I love the most (:D) and I can already see great promise.

Another part of me is telling me to go head & buy it because I don't want to lose out on an opportunity to add a nice fish to my setup. If worse comes to worse, drop the Midas back into the 150 gallon since it'll probably just dominate the other small fish. :x

I'll post some pictures later on tonight of the flowerhorn and midas as well as the setup.

Here are the two fish in my 150 gallon. sorry about picture quality. Taken from iPhone. Will get camera tonight for my 55g.

Not a good idea. Keep all your prized fishes solo! 55 is small, even for a few 3" fish, especially if they are aggressive.

Here are pictures of my 2.5" inch Flowerhorn and Midas. Flowerhorn wouldn't stay still. Will try to get a better picture some other time.

As of right now, I am holding them both in a 55 gallon aquarium because that's all the space I have as of right now & also to supervise their food intake untill they grow to about 4-5". They seem to be doing fine, but will upgrade as they get bigger. After two weeks, FH's kok has grown significantly and doesn't look like it's going to stop :D. I am still thinking about buying the Red Texas FH but will make my decision while I'm in the fish store tomorrow. haha

I wouldn't do it, red texas tend to be very aggressive, and should be housed solo. any one of those fish could snap and kill the other two in a heart beat.

Well, jus updating everyone. Decided not to buy the RT. Didn't even go to the lfs. For some reason I just had a change of heart. What really got me happened while feeding the two one day. Like always the FH swam around like a "cool guy" looking like he's dancing and eating off of my hands. And like always the Midas hung around the middle and darted to the surface for his food and back down. Well, after feeding I observed them for a minute and noticed the Midas flaring at me & curving his body bringing out his stripes; actually staring me down like he wanted to attack me. I mean my 8" parrot fish is pretty territorial himself but this is my first time experiencing a 2.5" do that. So I guess I grew attached to his little bad ass attitude haha. So the plan is to get these two to growout to about 5" then by then I should have a 75g-80g to seperate them into individual aquariums.
