Thinking about getting a Peacock Bass

I've been thinking about getting a Peacock Bass. I've seen some pics on this forum that have a nice green shade with some red. What type of PB is this? Thanks

Ocellaris and monos get that green color that you're looking for. They're also the most common/cheapest. I like how they look though too.

get some temensis. they are more rare, and look better imo.
im goign to be selling some soon in Socal. $15 for 3'' babies.

The Peacock Bass you mean its Cichla monoculus.C,monoculus are Beautyfull colored.

Remember that Monos and Ocellaris get to about 2ft and Temensis 3ft so you have to have the room to keep these guys.

The fish in the link is a mono.

Generally the mono and ocellaris get the green coloration. This also depends on the lighting too. I can make my monos fluro green or I can make them yellow....

I would go with monos, tems get way too big. Go for it if you can house them but most people struggle to even keep monos in reasonable conditions.
