I have about 30 of them. They are very interesting snails as they actually partner up. They lay their eggs individually and in my tank its on the stems of large anubias though I have read they will on smooth rocks as well. They readily eat snails of their own size or smaller and also I have noticed them "tag teaming" snails slightlly larger. They can also easily be supplemented with bloodworms or sinking catfish/shrimp/protein based pellets. The juveniles spend a large part of their time in the substrate though the adults are usually out and about and visible.
Does anyone know where I can get some of the assassin snails?? After having 6 spawns by my Blue Rams eaten by pond snails, I need to do something!! I can't smash them fast enough. Southern Missouri, Northern Arakansas would be best, I don't mind driving and will consider shipping. Thanks for any help!!
Arakkis on AC has some at this thread. Note, its now being discovered that they will occasionally prey on small fish/shrimp if the opportunity arises. They are cool snails though.
