so after i got my 75g stocked my gf wanted me to get another tank. so one day while wandering around my LFS i saw a couple all black angels and pretty much fell in love on the spot. so here is my planned basic setup, im open to suggestions since this is my first fortay into angels.

37g tank (30"W x 12"D x 22"H)
Top Fin Power Filter 40 (not too thrilled about this filter but the tank comes with it... considering Fluval C3)
150w heater
(plants driftwood and rocks as i see fit)

2 angels... possibly 3 depending on your resposes
small pleco (haven't decided which yet)
... and possibly some other small community fish

I would get 5 or 6 and try for a pair of Angels, 3 usually turns into 1 or 2(pair) due to aggression. The more you get just increases the chance for a pair.
Oto cats are a good option instead of a Pleco.
Maybe a few danios as dithers to fill out the top. Danios have been fin nippers for me before, so might even drop them.
I'd stay with Angels, Pleco or Oto cats.

5 or 6 angels in a 37g wouldnt it get kinda crowded? now from what i understood, getting 5 or 6 they might kill eachother down to a pair?

and i will go with the oto cats, i picked 2 up today for my 10g feeder tank to help keep it clean.

i was thinking celestial pearl danios as a filler

Angels are great fish.. every collector should have a tank full..

i DEFINITELY recommend that you get the Fluval c3. I have it on my 20g and it keeps it crystal clear. I also like Jet Black Angelfish because i have one too. Good Luck... ;)

yea i have 2 Fluval C4's on my 75g and its never been anything but crystal clear...

the angel tank is still a ways off so im just doing research now

ok, so now a revised stock list:

6x all black angels
6x celestial pearl Danios
3x Oto Catfish

im thinking of buying a 55g tank for the angels... it will have a high filtration rate. are the angels ok with the current from the HOB filters?

:)

If you are thinking of buying a 55g, I would recommend that you wait for a $1 per gallon sale at Petco or any other LFS(If the other LFS's have those sales). Are you gonna try to have the angels pair off? And yes, the angelfish are fine with the current from the filter because the Fluval that i have is actually a little bit overkill for my tank and my water level has gotten about an 1/8 inch beneath the black plastic on my tank one time resulting in a higher water fall from my filter. I have a Marineland bio-wheel Penguin filter on my 55g goldfish tank and it also keeps it crystal clear especially considering how much waste goldfish produce.

Whatever you do don't buy a 55g new. There are tons of deals on 55g tank all the ime on craigslist, just keep your eye out.

i've looked on craigslist, cheapest i found was $120... if petco has a $1 per gallon sale i can get the tank and filter for that much... so i might just wait for that... i always prefer new to used anyway (just personal preference)
