Im setting up my 120 gal (4x2x2) mainly for my rays (2 retic and a motoro) and i was thinking about adding Peacocks. would this size tank be large enough? if so how many? Im not sure what kind they are as my LFS advertises them just as "Peacock Bass", they're about 4in and run for $80.
Thanks for your input

Well I would get a bigger tank for the rays and cichla. Also for just a "peacock bass". I would think twice about your LFS purchase. Check around the vendors here. You can get some quality bass for 80 bucks man.

$80 for what are probably common farm raised bass is kind of high. As stated above, you can get some pretty nice Cichla for that amount. A 120g would make a good grow out tank, nothing more. 6x3, or close, should be minimum imo, and even that is pretty small. These fish get big and can be pretty damn active.

If your using the 120 for a grow out I'd go for it but if your new to bass start with the cheaper species like monos, ocells, or orinos there pretty neat looking but typically a Lil more aggressive but if your able to keep rays chances are you will be fine I highly recommend a few venders on here but the one I use exclusively is Lovethemfish but there some really good ones on here so pick wisely cuz there like crack!!!
