I've heard that a 20g is big enough for a breeding pair of Convicts. My problem is the Male killed the Female after the kids were born. I think a 20g is too small to put any dither fish in there. Is there another solution so this doesn't happen again?

yes, when the fish start to fight, just remove the babys and they will revert back to normal

That is not always true......sometimes the male will still attack the female because he will want to spawn again but she might not be ready.......Honestly i think convicts are much easier to spawn in a 29 gallon because(in my experience) there is much less aggression and after i bred them in there i didn't remove the fry until they were big enough to be used as feeders(.25"+) so i think a slightly bigger tank is the answer.........good luck............

you can do it in a 20g, but I would go with the 20g long or better yet a 29 gallon. With one pair you'll want to get a tank divider. sometimes on parent will be protective of the young from the other parent. Other times the male will want to breed while the female isn't ready too.
