thinking about making a beadie viv

hi i was just wondering what wood i should use to make a viv how to attached bits together...(screws,nails,glue?) im going to use 6mm security glass and 70mm air vents...how many vents do i need?what any coatings on the wood and how to make the right finish...wood stains,varnishes..please reply...:)
 
Looks like a good plan to me. You will want to seal everything with some glue or silicone, in addition to screws. As far as vents go, if they are going to be about 3", which is 70 mm, you should put about 6-10. You should not leave them as open holes. It would be better to get a couple of these http://www.atlantasupply.com/images/2590-ASC_V2_cmyk.jpg and make large rectangluar vents.
