I have a 240 gallon that currently has a breeding group of Mpimbwee. There are 2 males and 4 females. Instead of purchasing more mpimbwe to make the tank look less empty I'm thinking about putting my 6 Burundi Fronts in the tank. I could really use the tank space and the Burundi are still a few years from breeding age. By moving the Burundi I would be gaining another almost 6' x 2' tank for other fish. What do you all think about this? Should I just spend another $400 and get more WC Mpimbwee? Getting more tanks is not an option. My power bill is pretty rediculous as it is.

If you mix, breeding down the road will not be an option. If you are okay with that, go for it.

Thats the problem. I'm not down with it, but I need the tank space. Or I could sell fish, which wont happen.

Have you though of selling the burundi and buying more mpimbwe? You would end up with a tank full of mpimbwe's that can breed and you will free up the other tank. Rather than having a mixed tank of fronts that should never be allowed to breed. Besides, the mpimbe are more valuable. Another option is to sell the burundi and not add any more mpimbwe because they already breed.

for me i would get more wc female mpimbwes .... but if you concern is your power bill and not mix breeding then you can mix them all in one tank. i personally dont like to put different fronts in one tank to prevent mix breeding...
good luck to your fronts...

if your not going to sell the fry's,then go for it have fun,,,,!good luck
