I went to my lfs today and I saw this fullgrown BP in the tank. It has hole-in-head and had no anal fin. The price is 4.99, so its cheaper because of his/her age is about 10 years old. So should I get him/her? Im not interesting into breeding but I always wanted have a BP community as I already have three BP. I just feel so bad for this BP as its not excatly most beautiful BP.

do it. I just rescued 6 that were sick and looked like they were dying at the LFS and lost 3 of them and ended up killing 2 tank mates in the process but I was still happy to rescue the ones that are left. I am actually surprised how nice they healed up too after only a few weeks they look like totally different fish.

Ok I will pick up this BP tomorrow after classes. I think this BP was mistreated by its previous owners. It is very actively fish, even if it has cloudy bulgy eyes, missing anal fin & part dorsal fin and has HITH & Black Spots. I think it was kept in poor tank conditions. Thats why i feel so bad for this BP and the LFS decided to sell it for cheaper price, theres a younger healthy BP in other tank for sale about $21.99 and its not even faded yet.

I really like the B.P., I saved one that was stuck to the filter, and after he healed up he turned into a really cool fish, he really goes nuts on my Jack, they seem to like being in a group, they rough house all day long and when its lights out they snuggle up like a happy little family. The only concern I would have would be the age of the fish. When ever I add a new Blood Parrot they jump it in, kinda like a gang and if it is elderly or in bad shape it might not be able to handle the stress of three fish beating on him at the same time. I'm about to do something similar with a full grown Jack Dempsey, he is in a 20 gallon and can't even swim.

Well I really doubt that all of my BP at home will challenge this old BP, he is about 9" and VERY THICK while the biggest one at home is about 6" and the two little BP are about 2". So I dont know if the resident dominant BP will try to dominate the old brute or just leave him alone. So this old brute will soon to be my biggest BP.

So the old brute just got a new home today! here's the pictures of Old Brute and its only tankmate, the central mudminnow. The other BPs were in a 33gal tank for awhile till Old Brute get use to the new home. Be nice, remember he's mistreated by his previous owners, not from me or the LFS.

jsut out of question, i had one of those mud minnows, how did you keep it a live? What do you feed it?
This mudminnow about 6" I feed it red rosies, just one red rosy a day. I had few mudminnows in past, they will take feeder guppies, ghost shrimp, live blackworms and frozen bloodworms. I had one were converted to flakes.
