Hello,

Which eheim is comparable to the FX5? Right now, I have 2 FX5 on my tank, but I might be interested in getting ehiems to replace them because the ehiems uses a lot less power. I am interested in getting the eheims with built-in heater. Which eheim with the built-in heater is comparable to the FX5? Is that particular model as easy to clean as the FX5?

The only Eheim close to what you want with a built in heater is the 2180. It is rated at 30 watts, but does not have the flow of an FX5.

I should mention the 2080 is the same as the 2180 just w/o the heater.

And for my specific situation I prefer the narrower footprint of the pro 3e 2078 over the FX5.

No, it's not. That "article" was so obviously written to praise eheim. I own eheim, and they are nice and all, but a 2080 is not a better filter than an FX5, sorry. I have experience with just about every eheim model in "real life," as well as owning some and also owning an FX5.
I will choose an FX5 over a 2080 every time (wait, I'll choose TWO FX5s, because that is the price difference of the two filters!). You want to point out power savings? Well, yeah, but you're not getting the flow of an FX5 either, so you're really not saving much. Besides, I've got about 1000 watts of heaters and lights running, I'm not going to complain about a couple dozen more watts from my filter.

Oh sorry, my reply wasn't as specific as it should have been. I don't take any conclusion as truth. What I really am wondering is are the facts correct in the comparison?

Noise, actual flow rates, etc. I could care less about the biased conclusion.
