Stuck inside my own head
I've been keeping freshwater tanks for quite a while now, but have always been slightly intimidated by marine tanks. I would love to try to have a reef tank but am not ready to tear down my 110 tall to convert it over. I just stumbled upon this ad on craigslist and was thinking that it might be a good way to get my feet wet without too big of a commitment.

Is this a good deal and a fair price? I was thinking about offering $75 because of the age, and the fact that I would need salt, test kit, hydrometer, sand, live rock, etc...Does anyone have experience with aquapods and recommend them or are the just a cheap gimmick? I know it would be better to just buy a bare tank and build everything up myself, but I'm looking for simplicity and lowest cost right now, if I like it then I'll just convert my large tank over.

That is a pretty good price for that setup.
However, SW tanks are much easier with bigger setups. Not saying smaller tanks can't be done, but you need to be much more vigilant on water parameters and in smaller systems, water parameters can get out of whack a lot quicker than in larger tanks.
That being said, SW is really no more difficult that FW systems. Startup costs will be more, but other than that, many of same rules you follow in FW are used in SW.
My best advice is to do tons of research and be patient.
Good luck!
