I have two QuiteOne 2200's powering my over head filter. I really don't like the sound one of the pumps is making. I took it out of duty to clean it and noticed that the side wall of the rotor and the side wall of the well the rotor goes into is scratched likely from sand. So I am guessing this pump will go out on me some time, I could run the system for a couple days with just one pump.

So I am trying to think just buy another of the same pump? Replace both pumps with one big pump. I liked having two pumps, I could pull one out of duty without shutting down the system, and if one fails I can it going with the other one in a pinch.

I would like to just replace them with two Fx5's but I don't think I can afford that.

What size tank do have in question????????????

220. This over head filter has ben the best out of the many filter options I have tried. Only sound is that of the pumps. Toss in the filter sock and you get super clean water. I put bid in on another qo2200 like to have back up after I had a pump fail and couldn't replace it for months. I am still thinking about just one big pump so I cab use the remaining 2200 to power a uv.
