Conversion calculator right under logo at top of page :D. Right beside the blogs button.

491.42g

And here's a link for calculating liner if necessary. http://www.pumpsandspares.com/linercalculator.htm

Insulate the pond on all sides and bottom twice as thick. Insulated cover and plenty of aeration for summer.

What are you wanting to keep in it?

There are some really great indoor ponds on here too get ideas from or outright copy, nobody minds :D.

:screwy::Dhahah i dint see the calculation..hmm im try to put all my fh fry in pond so it can grow faster... so i put twice as thick on the bottom? INSULATED COVER AND PLENTY OF AERATION FOR SUMMER.I DONT GET IT?..SOWIEE IM KINDDA SLOW FOR THIS

Well plenty of aeration is so when your water gets hot there is less oxgyen so You need to put in some kind of airstone. I dont know if insulated and cover a different or together. But if they are differnt then u insulate it so it retains heat better and you cover to prevent evaporation and jumping fish. If they are together um im geussing some kind of water proof inso board. But there are plenty of pond ideas on here if you ever have a question i probley no the answer because i was going to build a pond exactly like this but space became a problem GL with the pond though

Ok, I'll type as slow as I can for you :D.

Insulation is twice as thick on the bottom since the weight of the water will compact it and being in direct contact with the cement floor of the garage will make it hard to stabilize the temp. to what you want.

Insulated cover holds heat in in the winter and keeps heat out in the summer.

Warmer water holds less dissolved oxygen than colder water, hence more aeration, plus having a cover precludes easy gas exchange with the atmosphere.

Any question, please feel free to ask, remember there are no dumb questions...just lots of water to clean up.;)

The lid/cover also keeps the humidity down in the garage I also fitted an extractor fan from a bathroom that works on humidity. I sat my pond on a thick bed of insulation and insulated it all round with a lid I run 2 x 300w heaters on it and they don’t have to work hard even in the u.k winters. Well even our summers aren’t that hot.:D
