I changed my tank over to sand yesterday. And lastnight I noticed that some of my fish were swimming right on top of the sand almost as they were dragging their bellies on it. Is this normal or just weird.
Thinking fish like new substrate.

I have a Oscar, Bocourti, Jack Dempsey, Green Terror and Blood Parrot. I really noticed the Jack Dempsey and the Green Terror doing it.
I don't know a whole lot about these fish, but I do know that my father-in-law's Dempsey skirts the bottom as he swims the length of the tank. Hopefully someone else will chime in who has a bit more knowledge than myself.
