I want to add another filter because the jebo838 I have seem to lose its filtration power after going through its four stages...WACK! therefore, I was thinking of adding a reliable fluval canister like a 305 or should add an emperor 400? What is the benefits of each as well as the problems it can create. Thanks in advance guys!

If you want a hob filter, go with an aqua clear 110, over an emperor 400. I've used both and the ac110 is way easier to maintain and has a higher flow rate.

+1 I have both on a 55 and I prefer ac110. Bigger media capacity and bigger flow rate.

How tall is the tank... The one thing i dislike about the ac 110 is that it does not have a very long intake tube. The emperor 400 on the other had has quite a long one with a mid level skimmer i guess u could call it... Also the emperor i think is much easier to maintain since it had the cartrages or whatever... And it has 2 extra slots for plastic cartrages that u can fill with bio media... Least i did... But the ac 110 is like a ninja of a filter... U dont hear a Thuing... It all depends on what ur trying to get out of the filter.... Imo

AC 110 would be my first choice, you can get a used one around 40 bucks. Or try the Aqueon 75 filter and add your own media (I never liked those bags with carbon you have to replace). The Aqueon is a very under-rated filter IMO. It self primes itself and has a pretty good flow rate. Best of all is you can find them for cheap! Around 50-60 brand new!
