I am thinking of buying an elongatus "black mask" not sure if I should do it or not. I have kept piranhas before...

I guess I just want to know how active they are? I know alot of piranhas don't move around alot but I have heard that elong's do and I was wondering if anyone here can back that up...

Last question, Anyone know any places to find a cheap Elongatus?

Some people say their elong is always moving darting back and forth across the tank while others say that there's just sits in a corner and only moves at feeding time. Basically it justs depends on the individual fish. As far as cheap elongs? sorry that just made me laugh :) from what I've seen from different online places is that they're all pretty much the same, I'd keep an eye out in the classifieds on here and on p-fury and hope to get lucky or just take the plunge and order one online. Good luck.

From personal experiance, my blackmask elong never really had a blackmask but was very active and was very aggressive. I payed 125 for a 5-6 inch blackmask. Id say get one.

Well your in NC so piranha's are no no's, that means no ordering to you.. However your right next to TN and there are several shops in Knoxville (first big city to were you are) that sell piranha.. I have picked up several RBP's and a Rhombus there. Once they had an elong that was extremely active but the asking price was almost 200.
