I really want to go with a Monster show tank for my Pbass. My Tems are almost big enough not to get eaten by my Monos ( about 3 more months at their current growth rate). So I am thinking a 400+ gal tank with a sand bottom, and very lil decor besides a few rocks and a cpl of pieces of driftwood would be great.

But I dont have the room for the tank with out breaking down some of my existing tanks, and I dont want to get rid of any of my other fish:irked: Most of my larger cichlids have bad attitudes and therefore must live alone so combining them into 1 of the larger tanks is out.

The obvious answer is get a bigger house but not the practical one. Or I could sell my couch, and put the tank there and just sit on the floor surrounded by fish (nirvana).

So do I sell off some fish and shut down a cpl of tanks for my dream tank? Or do I put the kids out of their room and transform it into an aquarium and charge admission for the jump in the electric bill?
Any ideas?

looks like you have to sacrafice.... i would shut everything down to have my dream tank even get rid of most of my fish that couldnt go into to it..

Guess I'm just selfish. It's not really my dream tank (I'll never be able to move into the National Aquarium) But it is a realistic dream. I may have to move in a year, so maybe Ill have more room then.

Where do you live? If you own your own house, is building on an extra room/attachment possible and worth it? I'm enclosign a 10x12 porch soon, materials includign the weekends worth of beer for me and a few buddies plus food will be under $1000. And then I have my own office and a place to put a BIG tank... if you can do an addition (enclose garage, etc.) it would add value to the house (unless too fish dedicated like a built in monster tank) and give you your existing fishies and the new tank... maybe even one bigger than 400...
