Bichirs are slower feeders, but I think it'd be ok as long as you're willing to get your arm wet in order to drop food in front of your bichir. That and perhaps be willing to overfeed a little to give the bichir more time.

Yea i dont mind getting my arm wet i do that with my peacock eel. Another question is would it be okay to put my hifin pleco with the birchir? Thank

If you do, watch out for slimecoat sucking. If you are feeding the pleco a meaty enough diet, he might not do it, but if he starts, the ONLY way to stop it is separation. And you will never be able to trust him with any bichirs ever again. Kind of like a chicken killing dog.

I keep a senagalus with pleco's with no probs. Though I do feed live minnows and there are sometimes minnow parts for a pleco to suck on if the crawfish don't get them.

I've done it successfully too, but it is something to watch for if you keep them together. If and when I do it, I tend towards toothed plecos, the ones that need to scrape wood.

I've had bichirs for about 4 years 2 ornate 1 senagalus 1 delheizi. My ornates and delheizi hide all the time but the senagul is a little savage. seen him grab a arrowana twice his size and tear it to shreds. 100 bucks gone lol. My plecos suffered the same fate. After a couple years I gave up on introducing other species. gars and bigger chidlids all that survived the wrath of my little senagul lol
