I am thinking about a camel boxfish(Tetrosomus gibbosus). From what i have read they supposed to only get 4-6". It would be going in a 30 gallon with a snowflake eel, until i eventually uptank. Anyone have any experience or advice about this?

they gotta be alone. if they get pissed off they release a toxin which could wipe out the aquarium.
i had a boxfish and was scared about that same thing. i talked to the owner of my lfs and he said he'd had them die on him before and they never poisened any of his tanks. so idk, it still worried me though.

Generally boxfish don't do so well in aquarium's and usually need at least a 90 gallon or more to keep there stress low. I don't think the eel would cause a problem but the tank is too small. Hope this helps you out and best of luck in your decision.

Your aquarium is too small, and these fish are simply tough to keep alive. They don't adjust to captivity easily, don't ship well, and are incredibly prone to disease. I don't recommend them for the home aquarium.
