Currently I am beginning to raise angels. I have one breeding pair but hate culling the slow growing/deformed offspring. Instead of just putting them in clove oil I am thinking of getting an aggressive cichlid that can do my dirty work and get a live meal at the same time (since my puffers won't eat the angels). I have 1 30g that is empty to use (I know most require 50g min.) Is there any cichlids that are aggressive and will stay relatively small (would work as only fish in the 30 g)? (and for those who are AC members too- yes I posted the exact same question there- doubling my chances of getting plenty of info:D before buying a fish)

All the fish that come to mind wouldn't do in a 30 gallon. I'm sure you don't want to get another fish just to have it refuse the fry you intended him/her to eat. If you're willing to get a larger tank, then your problem could be solved easily.

Really not any room for a bigger tank (have 7 in a 2 bedroom apartment already) and had a frog when I was 6-7 that ate everything in the tank that fit in it's mouth (including a sword tail that didn't quite fit). Haven't liked frogs since. If anyone lives in NE PA and would want the extra fish, I would give them to you. Must be for food- don't want these things breeding and weakening the stock
