thinking of getting a hystrix...

hey mfk - im thinking of getting a hystrix from my lfs tomorrow (if its still there!) after looking at the sticky im not sure if it is a hystrix or instead could be an aparico??? my reasons for this are the owner of the lfs reckons the rays he has are all wild caught but with the recent ban on exports from brazil this leads me to believe the ray could be an aparico?

what are the differences to look out for between the two so i can positively id the ray?

either way ill still get it but its nice to be able to id a newly aquired ray (if its still there!)

I doubt that its a true hystrix as they aren't being exported right now. Better take a pic and
get an ID first. An Aparicio looks like a motoro when small as it grow the spots start melting and
coming together forming different types of formations.
Do a search on both and you will get pics of them.

Hmmm, A vendor on another board just stated that the export of Brazil Hystrix were still banned. Thanks for the info Anders.
