Hello

I had to get rid of my tank over a year ago. Now I've got the itch again to get one.

But i want to do it right this time pick the fish then the tank:)

I like the look of this guy Aulonocara stuartgranti (Chiwindi).

I would be interested in breeding and showing.

Unfortunately i cant get and overly big tank, do to spacing issues.

I was thinking however of going with a few smaller tanks, after watching a video on showing your fish.

Would a 35 gallon be ok for 1 male 3-4 females, and would 2 15 be ok for show tanks for a single male and a few dither fish, also what size of tank should be used to hold 5-6 fry till the 2inch sales point?

Im looking for brutally honest answers if this cant be done tell me now. Or any substitutions you think could work?

Thank you and sorry for the marathon post.

I believe 1 male and 3/4 females will fit good in a 30 or 40 breeder. I would go with something bigger than a 15 gallon as a show tank. Your male peacocks will get too big for that.

If the foot print is the basis of your space limitations, build a stack stand. With just some 2x4's and plywood, you could build a stand for three 30 gallon breeders. They only have a 30x18 footprint. 40 gallon breeders are only 36x18 (and are easier to find).
