Hi guys, I am thinking of getting a bass one day, but I am asking for advice? What species of peacock bass should I get as a beginner?

If you go to your lfs your most likely gonna get tank raised hybrids which are not bad bass. I personally don't know size differences and hardiness of diff species but I'm sure someone else with more exp will chime in

Oh? Tank raised hybrids huh? Haven't thought of that... but which species of peacock bass is suitable for a beginner pbass keeper? In Indonesia, the cheapest we get here is Cichla monoculus and ocellaris. Oh yeah what are the minimum requirements of keeping one?
Oh ok well if you know what your getting then that's what your getting. Pbass grow to about 18 inches so a 300 with 30 inch width is probably the suitable size. However a 180 with 24 inch width would suffice with a 2 or 1 IMO.
