Hi everyone after following the various threads on this forum, i think ive been infected by a Cichla virus or something.
My Tank is 365cm x 80cm x 60cm close to 1800 litres (around 470g)
and has 5 rays (1m, 2f Potamotrygon histrix, 1m, 1f Potamotrygon leopoldi) and a 45cm Lophiosilurus Alexandri in it already.
Now im am definatly thinking of getting some Cichlas for it. Ive spoken to my importer who has Cichlas in stock (only 10-15cms atm) from where he got them from and he imported them from Singapur and has no idea what type they are. I know they are food at that size for the Alexandri but hes ordered 30-35cm ones (8-10 depending of how many are in the boxes) for me, i was thinking they could last at least a year before i have to make a new tank for them. What do you think

Mfg Pete

Depending on cichla species, some grow fast while other grow slow. It should be ok in a growout before you have a tank ready. When they're small they actually prefer a small tank that is about 40g.
