There isn't enough sand in my tank so I want to mix in some more. I was thinking of adding in a different color but I'm not sure if I should go lighter or darker. So, I want you guys to throw in your opinions. Here is a pic of the sand I have now...

You sand looks fine now, but if you did want to do anything to it, IMO, I'd go a bag of dark brown with a few handfuls of black mixed in. Then mix that with your substrate, I'd kinda be like a Great Lake sand color.

Alright thanks I was thinking darker as well. I think the sand I have now looks pretty pale in pictures and I like the idea of colouring it up. I don't have many options here but I can get my hands on some of that shiny black tahitian moon sand...

Last weekend I changed the 55gallon to playsand, originally had the black moon sand in it. Had about half cup of the black sand left in the tank, poured playsand in, then put the black sand in a little section in the tank. Imo it looks pretty darn good.

I still have the black sand sitting in a bucket, to bad ur not close I could give you some so you could try it out.

Just a quick shot, keep in mind I didnt use alot of black sand. But it "could" give you a idea.

That looks pretty good :) I looked closely at my sand and it looks like there is already some darker specks mixed in so I think black would look good. I wish I could find some dark brown though
