what type of plants could I put in a tank with clown loaches, a rainbow shark, and various kinds of tetras. How much would it cost

Just trying to get an idea of how much money it would cost and what I could do with the fish I already have

It sounds like you dont have much experience with plants. I would suggest starting out easy. Get some easy plants that require little care. I dont think your current fish will have a problem with any plants you add. In fact, they will appreciate it, it makes the water healthier too. If you would like to jump in and get better plants, then it requires better lighting, nutrient supplements, CO2 etc to a varying degree.

Make sure you read about this and learn it before jumping in, it can cost you and you can waste your money if you arent equipped to maintain a certain plant.

You will have to add veggies to your loaches' diet or they will rip through your plants.;)

Cryptocoryne crispatula, Cryptocoryne wendtii, Vallisneria spp., Anubias spp. and
Java ferns are worth a try. They are undemanding.

My loaches don't bother the simple plants I have in my tank. Anubias (both varieties), Onion plants (very easy and undemanding), and my swords.

I would definitely recommend the Anubias and Onion plants.

What kind of lighting do you have?
