hey guys, i'ts been a long time since i been on this forum, to make a long story short , I want to convert my 125 gallon tank to planted aquarium, i've had sucess with smaller planted tanks in the past but i'm looking for a not so expensive way to light the tank? Any suggestions? it's a standard 125 gallon tank 6ft long 18 inches deep and 23 inches high.
type of lighting? any advice would be appreciated .

That sounds like allot of light, you getting pressurized Co2?
I think 6700k would look much better then those salt water bulbs from what I hear from others.
Lighting for that size of tank is going to be expensive..

ok fixture i'm thinking about is 4 96 watt 12000k compact flourescent bulbs? is that enuf light?
Wrong color temp. I would recommend avoiding that lighting, as the bulbs range from $50-90 each. Look into HO T5.
