My outdoor tank is 8m long x 2m wide x 1.5m tall. I wonder if i can keep an arapaima for life in there? Im kinda hesitant because the tank is just 2m wide. I keep the Water level at 1.2m. So what do u say? can i get away with it?

Personally never kept them but I'll bet you could get some good info on this thread:

Beat me to it Barrett.
If you really want an arapima then a pond would be the best, is it possible to put in a pond?

My nearby LFS keep more than one full grown pimas in a dirty cement block which is surely smaller than yours(not sure 'bout size) and they are there for many years now but I don't think they are happy. (a lot of black Gars and some Pima) I always frozen my dead mate and bait for them, loved the gluttony splash of them (even the water's stink) lol

Around 26 feet long, 6 1/2 feet wide and almost 5 feet deep roughly on outdoor tank. That's one hell of a big fish bro. Best of luck!

Never kept them long term, but seeing as they hit around 10 feet in length, I think you'll need a wider tank. Aside from that I think it will be fine

Hope your tank is big enough get one, since these fish are massive but cool too. I think your tank is big since it's like the length of a house.
