Every time I see this guy at my LFS I'm so impressed and hope my NTT gets at least close to this size.

The pictures don't really do it justice (nor does the NAN lighting lol) and it's also quite stable compared to most monster-sized Dats I've seen here (granted the others were also for sale but in much smaller tanks, this one is in about a 400 or 450).

It’s big but it’s an Indo

Yes indeed, I have an NTT but didn't mean to imply this one was same, should have better clarified that. In any case it's still a whopper -- if anyone has pix of a bigger tank kept Dat please share, would love to see!

Just realized my mistake and misread your opening sentence-you should chance your arm and put an offer on it. You don’t know until you ask

One part of me would surely love to have that fish but I don't want to possibly disturb the balances I have in other tanks. I also prefer to grow 'em out myself and see the development.

But that's a good question about the price, I've never asked. If I had to take a wild guess I'd say maybe about US$250-$300, next time I stop in there I'll ask them.

I'm curious about the shirt in the background of the first photo. MFK?

Also that's one thick fish!

Personally I'm not sure, far from an DAT ID expert, sometimes I have trouble telling difference between younger NTT & IT lol -- K krichardson Vancouver_98683 Vancouver_98683

Whether it's an ST or an IT though it sure is a massive beauty.
