So this morning I went to turn on the light in my growout tank and noticed a dead feeder rosie stuck in the top corner of the tank. No need for a net on this one, just grabbed it and pulled it out. Then I made the stupid stupid mistake of going to the freezer to grab some fresh shrimp and fish to thaw out for the big fish. Well what happend? My hand was still wet from the growout tank and instantly froze to a piece of metal in the freezer (ouch). Literaly the base of my palm became one with the freezer lol, luckily my dad was home for the weekend and heard me yell "g**da**it" and casualy walked down to the basement to find me standing them with my arm halfway in the freezer and laughing at myself. Being a Canadian family, he knew exactly what had happend. He again casualy walked over and poured some of his morning coffee on my palm to get it free. Funny thing is after I was unfrozen I said thankyou, he looked at me and shook his head - laughed and walked away lol.

Has anyone expirenced a similar situation? Or was I just dumb this morning and forgot to dry my hands first?

once my shirt sleeve got caught in the filter, but my parents were asleep(it was 6 am) so there was no one there to help me, had to unplug the filter then cut my sleeve off the filter, but when i came back to put it in, my african chiclid had died

That sucks man, sorry to hear that. Only negative effect from my expirence was having to clean a bunch of coffee out of the freezer before it froze up. On the plus side, my freezer smells good now lol

wow i thought over filling buckets was bad lol

I think we all get a little cheesed when we occasionally overfill a bucket, one for electrical reasons (if you have a power bar on the floor or something) and two for the excess mess you now have to clean up after. I keep a small wet/dry shop vac near my tanks now for that exact purpose.

I have overfilled my tank and totally forgot for over an hour! I don't drink anymore while doing water changes :)

you can atleast blame it on the alchohol... I overfilled my tank thrice not an hour but good enuf to flood two floors.... and always have the water siphoning from the powerhead air pipe while i clean and frgt it all the same evrytime... damn stupid i feel evrytime this happens.....

almost broke my heaters last week in my 125g doing a wc. Left them on and was scrubbing the wall and felt it! Thank god i didn't add new water on them it would of been bad. they were hot hot hot!!!

I over filled my tanks for first time ever not long ago. the 55g i was puting water back in and singing the hokey pokey to my daughters in the other room and completely forgot and well....thats what is was all about :(
