The UV is for killing algae. Ponds tend to be in the sun.
UV filters are common for saltwater tanks also.
idk wat a £ is.
The build looks solid.

£1--$1.56, whats the benifit of the uv for indoor aquaiuims?

The UV, if the flow is slow enough, will kill free floating algae, bacteria, viruses and parasites. It is a good addition to a tank. I have no experience with the filter in question though.
