I was fairly positive she was female, but just wanted a couple extra opinions just to make sure. If you guys aren't sure I'll vent, but I really don't like to put my fish through the whole process. So far she's doing well, the Firemouth gave her a couple nudges, but nothing serious and nothing a cichlid can't take. I also think she may be stunted, I think the LFS I got her from had her in one of their little tanks for a long time, but she is otherwise healthy.

Hopefully one day I can get her and my male to mate.

Will try, this JD is very people friendly but is definitely scared of the camera, why it's dificult to get a decent picture of her. I'll try to get better ones up tomorrow morning.

awesome
thanks bro
goodluck with her
how big is she?
by guess for now is female

By my steady eye she is a little over two inches, and she is growing very fast, much quicker than my male did. She is the only fish in the tank allowed under the male's log so I'm hoping they'll mate, if nothing else hopefully get along forever.

Well the male and the supposed female are currently dancing in front of each other and swimming together, and are now challenging every fish in the tank while digging the gravel, and vigorously uprooting every plant in the tank, so it's safe to say I have a male and female, and they are most likely going to breed.

The catfish runs but the Firemouth just doesn't understand why it's a bad idea to flare his gills at them...looks like my empty 20 gallon is going to be up for a little while for the Meeki.
