So. I now have two Tetraodon schoutedeni. There is so little available on this puffer that I'm not sure what to do. According to the info that I have read, they were relatively frequently bred in the 70s before they became impossible to find, but I have not read about anyone successfully raising the fry. They are a completely peaceful puffer to any other species of fish except another puffer. Right now I'm trying to figure out how people used to co habitate these guys, because I had to seperate mine. There is some info in German forums but sadly I'm a stupid American and google translate sucks. If anyone has info on this mysterious fish I would love to hear it, or if anyone has any ideas for me. I love a mystery fish, and this is the latest one I'm trying to figure out.

Not sure if there is a way to sex your type of puffer, but most of the time it seems to be hit and miss whether you will get lucky and find yourself a male + female, which are willing to breed...

Then the 2nd problem is even if they will breed together, males tend to get quite aggreesive at times, so you always gotta watch the female is okay...

If you do manage to breed them, then its a matter of havig live baby brine shrimp on hand to feed the fry, and possibly a spare tank to rear the fry in with a sponge filter as they start getting a little bigger...

Good, interesting post. I can't be of much help, but I know that Oddball Oddball has bred pretty much every species of fish, and was active in the hobby back when you said these guys were being bred. Maybe he'll have some useful input.

Yeah they were, I got them at the store though, the wet spot. Great little fish that ignores everyone but the other puffer. I'm not sure if I will try again. Maybe when I rescale the tank or maybe a temporary clear divider.
