Wow beautiful stand! Is that trim on the sides one solid piece? And how much wider than the supports did u make the front paneling? If you could take a pic with the doors open I would really appreciate it, I've been planning out a very similar design for an 8x2x2 stand but I'm having a hard time piecing it all together in my mind lol
 
The trim on the sides are made up of two solid blocks of cherry, I cut and route these, and a cherry fluted molding I bought at dykes lumber. I'm not sure what you mean about the size of overlap. All my stands start with a frame , then get wrapped in plywood, this one is 3/4" on sides and 1/2" for the front , with the doors openings its easy to bend. Same with the canopy . The doors were a , big job .I made cores out of wood then wrapped 1/2". The trim took hours steaming over the stove, to get that to bend
