Ok so I was hiking in the woods with my friend and I heard something like the sound of cans being tossed around and I looked and it was a guy dumping tons of cans into the creek I wanted to go yell at him but my friend said that it wasn't worth it what's your guys thoughts on what I should have done?

I know I would have said something to the toad....The imbecile could have turned the cans in for money but he was too lazy and resorted to polluting the waterway.
 
Poor word choice...I actually like toads but I loathe polluters.
 
couldn't you notify the police or make some kind of report? that has to be illegal

i'm thinking you could take a picture of him in the act or get a license plate or something
 
I was thinking about that but it'd probably do little good as the guy would be long gone before anything could be done about him.
 
Somehow the second paragraph in your post appeared after I submitted my post.
 
I figured that too but at least it's something. better than doing nothing and probably more effective than going up to him as a confrontation can go south quickly

He either walked back there or he was on a boat and was putting them down a hole that still connects to the creek when tide comes up but by the time the police would have been there he would have been gone and I was on a hill pretty far about 75m I could still tell what he was doing but a pic would have been worthless
