so; I went to a store in Burlington Ontario yesterday,
there was a shark in the coral tank, "someone traded it in"
the shark is in a mess of a state - missing a fin , scars and cuts all over the fins and tail
he even has a scar under his mouth

now, I just want to remind people. this is not the stores fault
they are a great store and ill be going to them for years to come.
its just the ******* who had this poor animal in a tank that's waaaay to much small clearly, because
the shark looks like it may be a couple years old, but its still very small, which I don't like at all

so my question is, is there anyway I can help with the scars? and the missing fin

Perhaps if you change the title in your threax you can get good answes for the shark guys..:)

Sounds like a mfk rescue is needed :) things like this appual me also, i usually end up bringing the poor animals home to give them a better life when i have the proper accomaditions. Usually end up being the best "pets". Its like they know there being saved and have a new lease on life. Makes me sick when my lfs brings in dozens of bamboo eggs a month well knowing only one person in our area (me) has enough room for them. Even then i chose coral cat sharks for myself due to the sheer sizes bamboos reach. Not everyone is responsible tho.

Agreed.

Any thoughts as to what's the best way to title a new thread that would get a local MFK'er to make the save?

What species of shark? Catshark?

its a bamboo, the store didn't bring it in , someone just sold it to them, and by
the way the employee was saying it, the tank was less than 90 gallons ,and the shark has been in there for a while
I currently keep sharks already so I know what I'm doing . this isn't just out of the blue " hey I want a pet shark "
and I know bamboo's get to a large size.
but I really think this shark's body, feeding cycle and environment
has been messed up so much that this jerk really did stunt its growth, he's bands are hardly there anymore, and he's only 7 inches .
his back has a tiny arch and he doesn't swim often because of the missing fin.
right now I'm feeding him mackerel with selcon and zoe "soaked for 1 hour" he's accepting it nicely, which im happy about.

Nice save, in any case! Best of luck!
