I figured this is where the most people would see this so here you go, Aquatic wildlife company in Manchester CT has to have the scummiest people out there in the fish business. As i walked in I saw a kid walk out with a common teacup stingray, you would normally say this would cost around 50 bucks at a lfs. Now let me say i know for a fact it was a teacup...the guy was selling it for 175...as a hystrix. The prices and negligence are unbelievable, they were selling a 10 inch delhezi bichir for 200 dollars because it was "wild caught"...my friend dropped it off there as a trade in a week ago. I initially went there for a trade in, a large tsn and small lung fish for a moderately sized peacock bass, not bad. As i brought the fish in they were preparing to sell it for 150 bucks, for a tsn, fish that people want to give away. Btw, would anyone pay $300 for a 20 inch RTC? no. But anyways, in return i was suppose to receive a 14 inch peacock bass, i turned to look at a large fire eel and he tried giving me the smallest one in the tank and gave me a hard time when i told him i wanted the large one. I had to call him out in front of everybody about the store and how it operates before i got what i wanted. These were the type of people you could care less what happened too, honestly. These people are so rude its a miracle there in business. They lie to young kids about every fish and hike every price for a 200% profit. The owner is a scumbag who mislabels fish and lies to people and try's to make you feel bad for asking questions.

I'm sorry this isn't a relevant post but it ticks me off. I know there aren't many hobbyists in CT and i now know why, this makes me appreciate everyone on MFK who isn't this jerk.
Feel free to let everyone know about an encounter you have had with people like this!

That's how most are. To the 99% pf people who don't know anything its a great store.

You should write a review of that store on Yelp because more people will see it. Most of their customers are casual hobbyists (not hardcore 200G tank ones like here on MFK) and your review can get a bigger audience there. Plus, when people search for info on that store, the Yelp review will be one of the first things they see, not an MFK posting.

They have to pay for rent, utility, employees... Run a business, and you'll know...

Finally, some one with smarts. Most of you dont have a clue what it take to run a business. shark was selling a 40" RTC for $big bucks, no one here whined about that?? He is there to make money, not friends!!

Is the store forcing people to buy?

i go to this store quite often i do have to say that they are over priced on alot of their stuff but they are knowledgeable people. they do carry more uncommon fish than alot of the fish stores in ct. i don't feel any differently about this lfs than any other store that i go to. and i have 6 stores i use. all stores have their goods and bads. o and coolrunnins by the way those two big bass use to be mine. wish i never got rid of them so please take good care of them. thanks
