im going to do my bare bottom 29 with a striped raphael, a single male convict, and a chinese algae eater...

according to most sites, 30 is a minimum for all these fish, i usually go by liveaquaria's numbers for stocking...

my only issue might be bare bottom with the striped raphael, but theres lots of driftwood.

let me know what you guys think, i might place my liveaquaria order in a few

Just to let you know, liveaquaria is not an accurate resource for finding out information like that...they say a black banded coral catshark needs a minimum tank size of 180g but yet they get 4 foot in length and need lots of swimming room. :screwy:

& all those in a 29g would be fine I think. Might want to get a cave for your striped raphael though. They're nocturnal like most/all catfish and prefer to hide.

man if u have a petsmart near you you can get all of those 3 fish for under $15, not worth the shipping costs for such common fish

that stock should work ,might want to upgrade later.and you can get that stock at most lfs.

Skip the rapheal cat, boring and hides all day long. If I were you I would get a pair of convicts or a single firemouth.
I like the idea of a pair of convicts ,but the cae will be swimmin for his life.

Don't buy from Liveaquaria for only those 3 fish. Search for LFS in your area. Go with a firemouth cichlid, convict cichlid, and 5 tiger barbs.

well i have about 5 baby convicts about 1" long in the tank, 2 baby chinese algae eaters, and a spotted raphael cat.. everything seems to be woking out great!!

i swapped the substrate to seachem flourite, and i have 2 30" t5 6700k lights and 2 anubas and an amazon sword in there

also i feed crused hikari cichlid gold to the convicts, hikari algae wafers to the cae, and hikari sinking carnivore pellets to the raph and they all eat like pigs

sometimes the cae eat the carnivore pellets... weird
