You know what sucks when you fill your tank with sand awaiting rays coming in and figure out you should have read the bag first. I'm thinking it's 100% silica but want to be sure.

Doesn't it say on the bag?I have no clue.

bag doesn't say but that's the break down of it I posted.. silicia dioxide = silica? says something about quartz in the description too..

So this is quartz or silica? (Seems conflicting info or I'm confused)

For anyone who doesn't know.. with rays.. Quartz good, Silica very bad...

Notice the Lighthouse on the add... probably came from the Jersey Shore:D

LMAO..

So it should be ray safe then. Good to know. Thanks aquanaut.. :)

Yeah I feel your pain. I filled my 120 up with reg. play sand assuming it would be fine and it apperantly had silica in it, so I had to find a home for all of my rays and fish for a couple weeks until I could change the sand. It took me about 5 hours to empty the water and sand!:nilly: I guess you live and learn!:grinno:

What will happen if you put plain silica sand in with rays?
