Sooooooooooooooooooooooo this sucks. I joined half.com the site where you sell your books and games and whatnot, kinda like ebay. I believe it's even part of ebay.com

I put some books on there and I get an email from some member asking the shipping cost of a book I am selling. Seemed legit, I've never used the website so why would someone be scamming me and trying to ruin my life. Well guess what, podge888 is an evil scammer and should be thrown into Davey Jone's locker, but I digress from the rest of the story. So I press the "respond" key in this email and proceed to log in and actually respond. I log in and it doesn't take me to the actual email he sent so I do it again. Does the same thing, I say screw this and will attend to the matter later.

I get to my girlfriend's apartment later and use her computer since my laptop is dumb sometimes. I press respond and her firefox takes me to an "forgery attempt" website asking if I want to proceed. :WHOA::WHOA:You stupid Podge888....die. Well I get on my account and quickly delete my debit and bank account information and change my email and etc. Well it was too late, I have an email saying I just made a sale to some girl in Georgia for my most expensive book and that I will mail it out by the 7th. Ummm no I will not, chica. I emailed the customer service asking what they can do and that I want my account deleted after this fiasco is fixed.

I'm not asking for pity or anything. I'm just stating that this sucks.:(

awww thats too bad :( what are you gonna do now? hope this all gets sorted out for you

That sucks. Ive been scammed before. My wife went to a retail store one time and they got her Credit Card swipe into the system. Put her card away and went on with her bizz. Long story short... about 2 days later, the Theifs used her Credit Card info on their Plastic credit card (scammers are advanced now a days). Story was crazy to hear but this is what the bank told us... as they claimed to have a vid of some guys swipping their card that checked out under their name (stated from the cashier suppos) but receipt said my wifes name.

Somehow they crossed the magnetic strip or info from the strip to another credit card... Crazy huh
It was a headache but was solved... hope you can get it resolved too

did she use a card reader in that shop? card readers are the easiest and most common scams ever.... they just have this plastic pen thingy that they put into the reader and it just looks like an electrical wire, you see it all the time going through customs uk and people try to smuggle it out lol

Where's Chesterthehero when someone needs it's prowess for making folks having problems feel better.

Try PMing it. It might respond with it's usual kind, cheery and very thoughtful comments.

something similar happened when i was living in either norfolk or north yorkshire (cant quite remember). a garage that my wife and myself have used card to pay for petrol was implicated in a card copying scam. they fiddled with the little machine so that it copyed the strip info and a camera got your pin. long story short they got millions before getting caught.
luckily our cards were never copyed, we had them changed anyway as a precaution but we were extremely lucky.

Packer, that sucks for you man. sometimes i would love 5 minutes alone in a room with these thieving little scumbags. they need to go back to cutting hands off for thieves, they would only do it twice.
i really hope you get it sorted before too much damage is done.
