I've seen them listed in multiple locations as Thorichthys Aureus and Thorichthys Aureum. Is there a difference or are these the same fish? I'm guessing they're the same, but looking for someone to clarify.

T. aureus is the correct name: http://www.cichlidae.com/gallery/species.php?id=244

Whether they're actually pure T. aureus (or just labeled that) is another discussion...

Yeh agreed I have some weird mix n match of Aureus/Ellioti/Firemouth in my tank, sold to me as a Aureus, but looks nothing like any of the known Thorichthys.
