Can any one please tell me if thorichthys will hybridise with each other in captivity and also, will they hybridise with each other in nature.
Thanks.

Yes they can, both in captivity and in nature.
Helleri, meek and pasionis have all been suspected of cross breeding in the wild specifically around areas of high flood around laguna catazaja, Mexico.

Keep in mind in classical taxonomy, not cross breeding in the wild was part of what separated species. In fact, one of the main reasons meeki and passonis were different species was simply because the coexisted in nature without cross breeding.

In tanks, with limited options, most cichlids will cross much more readily than happens in nature.

I would not say it's very common in the wild but naturally occurring hybrids are out there.
Lots of hybrid thorichthys have been caught around catazaja recently.
I remember natural hybrids of a,macracanthus and veija zanotas doing the rounds too.
They were actually been sold under the name veija macracanthus.
So while I agree, natural hybrids are not very common, it may be more common than we think.

I know William Heijns has filmed a few wild veija hybrids, suspected synspilum / bifasciatus and a few thorichthys which he was unable to classify. How common or why I don't know but a interesting topic.
